Welcome to Western Labradors owned by Joe & Robin Mata.
We got our first purebred Labrador "Shadow" as a pet, little did we know when our friends and now mentors invited us to attend a Fun Day with High Desert Labrador Retriever Club, that we would end up being involved in such a wonderful club and meeting a great bunch of people with such common interests. Robin has been working in child care since 1990 and has been on the Board of HDLRC since 2004 as the Newsletter Editor, and is a current Officer of HDLRC. Joe has been working in the Communication Industry since 1984 and has worked on the Grounds Committee, and is currently the President of HDLRC. We are fortunate to be associated with a great Club that cares for the proper continuance of the breed, we strive to produce a sound Labrador with correct type and temperament that can spend all day in the field or show ring and curl up with it's family at night. We ensure our dogs have all proper clearances and will only breed to those with all clearances. We both enjoy showing, training and raising our dogs, and we look forward to sharing our dogs with all of you. Joe &

are a small hobby kennel located in beautiful Palmdale just North
of Los Angeles Ca. We got started with Labradors when we rescued
"Riley" our first Labrador (mixed), and found out the
beauty with in this breed and fell in love with it.
